Анотація:
O. Levytsky was one of the representatives of the historical ethnology in Ukraine, a pioneer in the number of investigations dealing with the subjects which are being studied only nowadays. He studied Ukrainian noble people in the context of the ethnosocial history and ethnographic treats of the culture; He was the first to start ethnographic researches investigating the position of Ukrainian woman in the post medieval and early modern time; he studied wedding customs and the custom law of Volyn noble people and the kozak and civil people as well. He explained some ethnic traditions of Ukrainian people in the light of Terner theory, which is applied actually in the studies of Ukraine of 15- 18 centuries, when the country was the important part of the Europe – Christian and East- Musulman border.
