Abstract

The dals are presenled on morph logy and ecology of Nemachilus kuschakewilschl Her. from the Karasu and Isfara rivers in the western part ol the Ferhana valley. The fish becomes sexually mature at the second year of life when body length is 4-5 cm, weight - 0/8-- 12 g. Its fertility is 186 1228 fish eggs. Spawning is by portions probably twice repealed as in all represenlalives ol the genus Nemachilus. Spawning takes place in May - July, spawn is sticky. Fumales lay Il on sandy-stone grounds. Nemachilus kuschakewilschl leed on the Chironoridae, Ephemeroptera, Trichopiera, Simultidae larvae. In the Karasu and Isfara rivers the quantity of Nemachulus Auschakewilschl is not large. I is considerably Jess frequent than Nemachilus stoliczkal (Sterind). It is a weed fish
