Новые находки остатков верблюдов (Tylopoda, Cameliaae) в отложениях понта юга Европейской части СССР

Abstract

A description is given of all recently known remains of big camels from llic Pontiaii riparian marine deposits and their continental analogs of the South Ukraine (Odessa region and south of the Cherkassy region). It is established that the described remains belong to a representative of the genus Gigantocamelus peculiar to the North American Pliocene. It is also confirmed that penetration of eamcls into Eurasia took place in the Pontian but not in the Middle Pliocene, as it was customary to consider till recently.
