переважно стосуються літературної, історичної й публіцистичної діяльності вченого.
The article deals with the materials of the Fund 227 of the Institute of
Manuscripts of the National Library of Ukraine named after V. Vernadsky.
It contains materials of the life and activities of Hlukhiv’s native Yevhen
Onatskyi (1894-1979), a prominent political figure and scholar. The
foundation consists of 33 files from 1915-1920, mainly related to the
literary, historical and journalistic activity of the scientist. Of particular
importance are two cases: a report on the negotiations between Ye. Onatskyi
(representative of the Central Rada) and representatives of Cossack troops
in Novocherkassk (November 1917); a description of the Hlukhiv and
Chernihiv archives. Here Ye. Onatskyi acts as an official representative of
the Central Rada, who in November 1917 was sent to the Don and the Kuban
to clarify the attitude of the Cossack troops to Ukraine, the Central Rada,
and the Bolsheviks. During the negotiations with General Bohaievskyi and
others, this goal was achieved. The description of the archives of Hlukhiv
and Chernihiv is of value, first of all, because it characterizes those archival
collections which, in their majority, did not reach our time (due to the lack
of space we stopped only at the Hlikhiv meetings). Onatskyi even points
to the archive of the church of Hlukhiv, which died before the revolution.
Literary materials are presented in most of their drafts and unfinished
fragments, but show deep interest of the author in the history of Cossack
times of Ukraine, personal tastes (interest in Hohol, Bunin, Nadson) desire
to translate into Ukrainian not only their works, but also French fantast
Jules Verne). Among the historical materials is also the important research
of Ye. Onatsky about the famous historical-journalistic work “History of
Rus”, the General Court of the Hetmanate
