У статті на основі документальних джерел розповідається про єврейські погроми,
що проходили в Глухові в 1918–1919 роках. Наведені повні списки загиблих у цих погромах євреїв, а також відмічені нещодавно виявлені на єврейському цвинтарі міста Глухова могили жертв цих кривавих подій.
Based on the documentary sources article speaks about Jewish pogroms that took place in
Glukhiv in 1918-19. There were two real Jewish pogroms in Glukhiv: one took place on February
22-23rd of 1918 and another one in November 1919. The First pogrom is remembered for
very big number of murdered. Even thru the were less people murdered during the Second one,
it lasted longer than 6 weeks. The causes and consequences of these pogroms are the subject
of a separate study. This article only describes the course of these events and focuses on the
exact number of victims. The purpose of this article is to introduce into science a new documents
containing information about the pogroms that took place in Glukhiv in 1918-19 years
old, and publish complete lists of Jews who were killed during these pogroms. There lists were
found in the funds of the State Archives of Kiev region. Until today it was known only about
Jews who were murdered and berried in the mass graves on the Jewish cemetery of Glukhiv.
There were also references regarding four individual graves of the victims of those pogroms/
massacres. In 2018, the author of the article has conducted field work on the Jewish cemetery
of the city of Glukhiv. The works consisted of search for preserved tombstones, including
fragments, bases, and also gone deep into land and grass-covered whole monuments or parts
of them. The author has cleaned and took photos of all found objects as documentary proof,
the identification of the surviving monuments was done, as well as translation of the inscriptions
made in old Hebrew. While performing these works and doing analysis of the obtained
data, 5 more gravestones were installed on the graves of the victims of those Jewish pogroms.
Three of these graces are individual graves, and in the other two graves family members who
were murdered on the same day were buried. There were newly found graves on the Jewish
cemetery in Glukhiv city. These are graves of the Jews who has perished during the two Jewish
pogroms. These new graves are marked in this article.
