The luminescence and scintillation characteristics of polycrystalline and composite materials based on stilbene, anthracene and the p-terphenyl doped with 1,4-diphenyl-1,3-butadiene are studied. A comparative analysis of the influence of deep traps on the radioluminescence spectral composition and yield is performed. Quenching of radioluminescence is caused by the presence of deep traps, which leads to a shortening of the radioluminescence pulse decay time and to decrease of the light output. The revealed regularities under radiative excitation are compared with similar results obtained under excitation by photons of light in the visible region.
