The present article is devoted to phytopathologic estimation of mildew (agent: Sphaerotheca pannosa Lev. var. rosae) distribution and injuriousness for roses under conditions of conservatories. Susceptibility of different rose varieties to this pathogene is discussed. According to the results of observations in 2004 under conditions of Donetsk Botanical Gardens conservatories, the following varieties turned out to be more resistant to the disease (varieties that are to the low extent susceptible to the affection): ′Eulalia Berridge′, ′Little Bakkaru′ (polyanthous); ′Dame de Coeur′, ′Landora′, ′Rina Herhold′, ′Gloria Dei′, ′Atena′ (tea-hybridous) ; ′Aspirin′ (group of varieties used for flower-beds); ′Caesar′ (flagellant) and ′Krymchanka′ (floribunda). No immune varieties were fixed. The following varieties are considerably susceptible to mildew affection: ′Marta′ (miniature), ′Dorothy Perckins′ (flagellant), ′Denise Cossegraine′ (polyanthous). The complex of agrotechnical and protective measures aimed at the decrease of mildew injuriousness and distribution on varietal roses saplings under conditions of the Donetsk Botanical Gardens is recommended.
