Abstract

Complex networks describe a wide range of systems including the Internet, a network of routers and hosts grouped into autonomous systems and connected by physical links. This article reviews the recent researches on the Internet topology and growth, which show the Internet as scale-free and small-world network. There is an interplay between topology and the network’s robustness against failures and attacks. These factors must be taken into account while planning the future network development at any level.
