Elastic properties of polycrystalline superhard materials on a base of the dense modifications of
boron nitride (DBN, PTNB, hexanit-R) were investigated by pulsed ultrasound method. A feature of
DBN samples produced by solid phase transformation using a pyrolytic boron nitride as an initial material
is the anisotropy of the longitudinal velocity of ultrasonic wave propagation. The degree of anisotropy
varies from 0,25 to 1,69 % and always the velocity along the axial direction of the sample was
lower than along radial one, what is possible due to texture of the polycrystalline material.
