Народне шанування святого Іоанна Нового та його суспільне значення

Abstract

Мета статті – порівняти народне та офіційне шанування святого великомученика Іоанна Нового (Сочавського) та вплив практики шанування святого на сучасність. Методологія дослідження включає послідовне дотримання принципів історизму, застосування методів аналізу та синтезу. Наукова новизна. У статті автор уперше в українській історіографії пропонує подивитися на народне шанування святого як антропологічний релігійний культ. Висновки. У цілому в культі мучеників (у народному шануванні) є два напрямки: офіційний – культивований, що практикується як на сході, так і на заході, прихожанами Української Православної Церкви, і народний (невоцерковлених людей), який практикується екстрасенсами, цілителями та іншими харизматичними особами. У цьому агіологічному дослідженні шанування святого Іоанна Нового було розглянуто поклоніння на місці мучеництва св. Іоанна Нового на території Буджака, у місті Білгороді-Дністровському як співіснування різних національностей в Україні й визначено нами як практику теоантропорегуляціі аккерманця в комерційних справах і торгівлі. Початок дослідження і конкретні обставини, засвідчені археологічними та історичними памʼятками міста Білгорода-Дністровського: усипальницею Іоанна Нового на вул. Леона Попова, храмом Іоанна Нового на вул. Перемоги, Вознесенським Собором на вул. Ізмаїльській, криничкою Іоанна Нового на вул. Портовій, на вулиці прилеглій до території середньовічної фортеці й античного міста Тіра, а також у міському краєзнавчому музеї.

The purpose of the article is to compare the popular and official veneration of the great martyr John the New (of Sochavskyi) and the influence of the practice of venerating the saint on modern times. The research methodology includes strict adherence to the principles of historicism, the use of methods of analysis and synthesis. Scientific novelty. In the article, the author, for the first time in Ukrainian historiography, offers to look at the popular veneration of the saint as an anthropological religious cult. Conclusions. In general, there are two directions in the cult of martyrs, in popular veneration: official, cultivated and practiced, both in the East and in the West, by parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – and folk, of unchurched people, which is practiced by psychics or healers and other charismatic personalities. In this hagiological study of the veneration of St. John the New, worship at the place of martyrdom of St. John the New on the territory of Bujak, in the city of Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky was considered as a coexistence of different nationalities in Ukraine and defined by us as a practice of theo-anthroporegulation of ackermantsa in commercial affairs and trade. The beginning of the research and specific circumstances, evidenced by the archaeological and historical monuments of the city of Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky: the tomb of John the New on Leona Popov Street, the Church of John the New on Peremogy Street, the Ascension Cathedral on Izmailska Street, the well of John the New on Portova Street, on the street in the adjacent territory of the medieval fortress and the ancient city of Thira, as well as in the city museum of local history.
