Реєстр тестаментів козацької старшини XVIII ст.

Abstract

Мета дослідження – укласти та проаналізувати реєстр тестаментів козацької старшини XVIIІ ст. Методологія спирається на принципи системності, науковості, міждисциплінарності. Використано такі загальноісторичні методи: аналізу й синтезу, історико-генетичний, термінологічного аналізу, компаративний. Наукова новизна. Вперше укладено реєстр збережених тестаментів української козацької старшини XVIIІ ст., проаналізовано причини малої збереженості духівниць із цього періоду та інформаційний потенціал джерел. Висновки. Заповіти козацької старшини – це важливе джерело дослідження української історії XVIIІ ст. Інформація тестаментів придатна для аналізу різних проблем, хоча й з певними застереженнями через особливість документів. У вітчизняній історіографії посилюється інтерес до заповітів як джерела, історики їх активно використовують і публікують. Обсяг сучасного інформаційного навантаження часто не дозволяє відстежити всі публікації духівниць, тому перелік слугуватиме ефективним інструментом для дослідників. Результатом пошуків стало укладення початкового реєстру збережених заповітів козацької старшини XVIIІ ст. На цей момент до нього включено 159 тестаментів (108 чоловічих і 51 жіночий). Розширений реєстр попереднього століття нині нараховує 55 духівниць (із них 10 жіночих та 1 спільний). Разом у списку заповітів старшини XVII–XVIIІ ст. налічується 214 документів (із них 61 жіночий). Внесені до реєстру тестаменти дозволяють поглянути на еволюцію їх форми і змісту, простежити зміни в ментальності й релігійності, генеалогію та родинні зв’язки, стосунки в родині, події життя особи та суспільні (війни, епідемії, взаємодія з владою тощо).

The research aims to compile and analyze the register of the Cossack nobility testaments of the 18th century. The research methodology is based on the principles of consistency, scientificity, and interdisciplinarity. The following general historical methods have been used: analysis and synthesis, historical and genetic, terminological analysis, and comparative analysis. Scientific novelty. For the first time, a register of preserved testaments of the Ukrainian Cossack nobility of the 18th century was compiled. The reasons for the low testaments preservation of the studied period and the information potential of sources have been analyzed. Conclusions. The testaments of the Cossack nobility are an essential source of research on the Ukrainian history of the 18th century. Testaments help analyze various issues, although with certain reservations due to the peculiarity of the document. The study is relevant because there was no register of preserved testaments of the 18th century until now. In Ukrainian historiography, interest in testaments as a source is increasing. They are actively used by historians and published. The volume of modern information load often does not allow tracking all publications of testaments, so that the register will be a good tool for researchers. The search result was the compilation of the initial register of preserved testaments of the Cossack nobility of the 18th century. Currently, the register includes 155 testaments (107 men’s and 48 women’s). The expanded register of the previous century now includes 51 testaments (9 of them are women’s and 1 is general). Thus, there are 206 testaments (58 of them are women’s) in the testaments register of the foreman of the 17th – 18th centuries. The testaments included in the register allow us to look at the evolution of the form and content of the testament, changes in mentality and religiosity, genealogy and family ties, family relations, events in a person’s life and social events (wars, epidemics, interaction with the authorities, etc.).
