"Українське ХІХ століття" в термінах і поняттях ґлобальної історії

Abstract

Мета дослідження полягає в переосмисленні особливостей історії XIX ст. в категоріях ґлобальної історії. Методологія спирається на методи концептуальної історії, мультикультуралізму та принципі сучасної ґлобальної історії. Наукова новизна. Специфіка «українського XIX століття» досліджується в таких категоріях ґлобальної історії, як «імперський меридіан», «відсталість», «відродження – культурний трансфер». Концепт імперського меридіану, запропонований британськими ґлобальними істориками, має французьку та українську версії, слугує контраверсією «нової імперської історії». Проаналізовано, як термін «відсталість» трактується іспанськими, російськими та українськими істориками. Основними темами історії України XIX ст. були відсталість та відродження. Національне відродження в термінах ґлобальної історії сприймається як культурний трансфер ідей, людей, технологій, суспільних і політичних рухів. Відродження розглядається як закономірне явище у світовій історії. Висновки. Трактування «українського XIX століття» з перспективи ґлобальної історії дозволяє переосмислити його в європейському та світовому контекстах.

The purpose of this paper is to rethink the history of Ukraine in the 19th century in terms and concepts of global history. The methodology is based on the principles of conceptual history, multiculturalism, and the ideas of modern global history. The scientific novelty. The particularities of the “Ukrainian 19th century” are surveyed with such categories of global history as Imperial Meridian, Backwardness, and Renaissance – Cultural Transfer. The concept of the Imperial Meridian, developed by British global historians, has French and Ukrainian versions, and serves as a counterargument to the New Imperial History. The author analyzes the differences in the interpretations of the term “backwardness” in works of Spanish, Russian, and Ukrainian historians. The main topics of the history of Ukraine in the 19th century were Backwardness and Renaissance. In terms of global history, National Renaissance is perceived as a cultural transfer of ideas, people, technologies, and social and political movements. Renaissance acts as a conventional phenomenon in world history. Conclusion. The interpretation of the “Ukrainian 19th century” from the perspective of global history allows us to comprehend it in the European and global context.
