Анотація:
The paper investigates how strong is the impact of socio-structural determinants on appraisal and self-appraisal of the social status in Ukraine. Therefore, it analyses data collected from 13 surveys for adult population of Ukraine (18 years old and above) being conducted by the Institute of Sociology, NAS of Ukraine, during 1994-2006. By means of a multiple linear regression analysis the author has constructed eight models describing economic and political preferences of respondents, professional and economic status, the structure of need satisfaction, leisure activities, attitudes to ward social changes, as well as their demographic characteristics. The analysis of regression models revealed that eight stratification measurements of social structure have a certain influence on an individual’s subjective social position. But the major influence be comes institutional trans formations specified for different periods of the monitoring surveys.
