Artist Mykola Murashko’s three diaries which have been preserved in the Kyiv National Art Museum archive are of great interest for a researcher. Each of them is special with its own way of expressing and manner of writing. The first one dates from 1866–1898 and starts with Ukrainian tales; next pages since page 35 contain notes on arts, which are published for the first time with keeping the artist original language and orthography. These notes include especially interesting references to the famous Kyiv painting school directed by Murashko.
