The article deals with the question of psychological motivation peculiarities in the short stories by V. Vynnychenko. It is discovered that the concept of sensitivity as unconscious or instinctive desire, which is dominant in a psychological system and is a leading factor to determine the behaviour of a hero, can already be traced in the early prose of the writer. Vynnychenko is not interested in the history of character formation. In the most of his short stories the author pays attention to an affective behaviour of a hero, which is motivated by hypertrophic sensitivity and influenced by a stimulative situation.
