Одним із проявів духовної культури сучасного постмодерного суспільства є потужний інтерес до широкої сфери магічного та міфологічного, що наочно демонструють сучасні література й кіноіндустрія. У статті проаналізовано побутування в сучасному українському суспільстві різноманітних міфологічних вірувань та уявлень, визначено роль ЗМІ у процесах трансформації традиційної міфологічної системи. Водночас наголошено на факторі незникання традиції завдяки її варіативності та пластичності. У нашому випадку це передбачає здатність традиційної народної міфології адаптуватися до реалій сучасного життя та інкорпорувати ті нові елементи (певні уявлення, персонажі, їхні окремі характеристики і риси), які можуть стати її органічною частиною. Акцент зроблено також на взаємовпливах сучасних сільської та міської культур, що відбиваються і на системі міфологічних уявлень.
One of the manifestations of contemporary postmodern society’s spiritual culture is a sustained interest in a broad sphere of magic and mythology that is demonstrated by the modern trends of literature and the film industry. The article analyzes the existence of various mythological beliefs and conceptions in contemporary Ukrainian society. The author points out a mass media role in the traditional mythological system transformation processes; at the same time, a factor is emphasized that a tradition does not vanish due to its variability and plasticity. In this case, it presupposes an ability of traditional folk mythology to adapt the modern life reality and to incorporate all those new elements (certain conceptions, characters, and their some streaks) that would have become its organic part. Also, it is accented to the modern rural and urban cultures’ interaction processes that have an influence on mythological conception systems as well.
