Вал на Акмонайском перешейке давно привлекает внимание исследователей. При этом его существование считается само собой разумеющимся, в связи с олисанием его П.С.Палласом и М. Е-Д.Кларком
The ramparts on the Akmonae isthmus connecting the Kerch peninsula with Crimean one were first observed by P.S. Pallas in 1794, but not over its whole length. Our investigation has shown that there are two ramparts on the isthmus. One of them runs across the isthmus from the north to the south, the other one - from the east to the west. We think that the rampart running from the east to the west may have been dated back to the 3'^ - the 2"^ centuries BC. The rampart running from the north to the south - to the 6*^ - the 4“^ centuries BC. However, the correct time and reasons of their erection can be established only after archaeological excavations.
