Стаття розповідає про монети київського князя Володимира Ольгердовича. Автор розвідки спробував відповісти на питання: як, чому і для чого ці монети карбувалися у Києві у другій половині XIV ст.
Emission of the coins Kiev’s dux Vladimir Olgerdovich (1362–1394) usually defi ne as result its political prides, but economics conduct second role. All these emissions were dictated by the economy and directed to the trade support on Silk’s way. Kiev was the fi rst amongst them and begin an issue of coin else before its conquest by Lithuania. Town commune of Kiev engraved its coins as imitation of the coin of khan Dzanibek. Such coins today known 88 specimens. As a result nearly all these emissions are soon stopped for want of the commodity silver and displacing the guideline of Silk’s way in Asia Minor and Levant.
