The database of the Nikolaev Astronomical Observatory as a unit of an international virtual observatory
Protsyuk, Yu.; Pinigin, G.; Shulga, A.
Results of the development and organization of the digital database of the Nikolaev Astronomical Observatory (NAO) are presented. At present, three telescopes are connected to the local area network of NAO. All the data obtained, and results of data processing are entered into the common database of NAO. The daily average volume of new astronomical information obtained from the CCD instruments ranges from 300MB up to 2GB, depending on the purposes and conditions of observations. The overwhelming majority of the data are stored in the FITS format. Development and further improvement of storage standards, procedures of data handling and data processing are being carried out. It is planned to create an astronomical web portal with the possibility to have interactive access to databases and telescopes. In the future, this resource may become a part of an international virtual observatory. There are the prototypes of search tools with the use of PHP and MySQL. Efforts for getting more links to the Internet are being made.

The MAO NASU Plate Archive: "observations in the past" of minor planets
Sergeeva, T.P.; Golovnya, V.V.; Sergeev, A.V.
The Plate Archive of the Main Astronomical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (MAO NASU) includes 20 thousands of direct sky area plates, which have been taken for various astronomical projects during the period of about 50 years. Those plates contain more then hundred thousand images of minor planets with magnitude up to 16.7m. About 10% of minor planets, which may be found on our archive plates were firstly discovered after the time when plates have been taken. So, we can rediscovery them due to the so-called “observations in the past”. In the paper the criteria for choose of objects and methods of their search, identification, and determination of their position are discussed. First results of the search for potentially hazardous asteroids in the MAO plate archive are presented.

The MAO NASU glass archive database: search and management tools
Pakuliak, L.
At the Main Astronomical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (MAO NASU) the astronomical glass archive counts more than 50 000 of plates obtained in various observational projects during last 50 years of the past century. The local single-user database of glass archive, created on the basis of observational logs and partly on measurement results, has been transformed into an online multy-user system to provide a remote access to the plate archive. In the paper online tools for data searching and database management are presented.
