Using the Din method, the vibration spectrum of
long disordered linear chains at arbitrary relations between
concentrations of two components has been
calculated and analyzed in detail within the isotopic
approximation. Particular attention has been given to
the case of light atoms predominance. It is shown that
in the continuous spectrum region there appear large
quantity of resonance peculiarities, which are responsible
for by vibrational modes of short chains of light
atoms with fixed ends. The width of the dips formed
depends linearly on heavy atom concentration, while
their depth is independent of concentration and defined
by atom mass ratio. As this ratio increases, beginning
with two, the dips transform into forbidden
bands, the width of which depends linearly on heavy
atom concentration too. New conditions of the opening
of such zones have been found and analyzed. It is
shown, that they cannot get inside the spectrum of
heavy atom ideal chain. The step-by step transformation
from the quasi-continuous spectrum structure
with a series of peculiarities to the hierarchy structure
of the local modes is traced.

Kosevich, Yu.A.; Feher, A.; Syrkin, E.S.
The different mechanisms of resonant transport of phonons between two media in the presence of impurity
intermediate layer are described. Particular attention is focused on the resonance interaction of elastic
waves with a two-dimensional defect on the contact boundary between two solids, on the multichannel interface
phonon scattering and on the experimentally observed nonmonotonic temperature dependence of the reduced
heat flux. In the cases when there is a direct interaction between edge atoms of the matrix as non-nearest
neighbors or when the impurities do not fill completely the 2D interface layer, the additional channel for
the transmission of phonons through the interface opens. This additional transmission channel manifests itself
as a transmission (or reflection or absorption) peak with an asymmetric line shape (the so-called Fano
resonance for phonons due to interference between the two transmission channels). Some applications of the
Fano effect in magnon heat conductivity are also discussed.

Maugin, Gerard A.
Canonical equations of energy and momentum are constructed in the kinematic-wave theory of waves in
a continuum. This is done in analogy with what is achieved in nonlinear continuum mechanics. The starting
point is a generalized balance of wave action. The standard formulas are recovered when the system follows
from the averaged-Lagrangian variational formulation of Whitham.

Bogdan, M.M.; Charkina, O.V.
The nonstationary dynamics of topological solitons (dislocations, domain walls, fluxons) and their
bound states in one-dimensional systems with high dispersion are investigated. Dynamical features of a
moving kink emitting radiation and breathers are studied analytically. Conditions of the breather excitation
and its dynamical properties are specified. Processes of soliton complex formation are studied analytically
and numerically in relation to the strength of the dispersion, soliton velocity, and distance between solitons.
It is shown that moving bound soliton complexes with internal structure can be stabilized by an external
force in a dissipative medium then their velocities depend in a step-like manner on a driving strength.
